Buddies/support workers are always welcome and can attend the classes free of charge (space permitting).

We believe very strongly in inclusion and every member receives good quality training and the same experiences without exception. However, over the years we have learned that some students benefit from a little extra support which can more easily be given in an environment specifically aimed at providing the right level of help at the right time.

Some of our more experienced pupils have volunteered as supporters and buddies in our special needs classes and act as role models and demonstrators, providing a valuable inspiration for our pupils. Many special friendships have developed from these classes.

We have a structured routine in these classes because we know that many of our pupils respond best when they know what is going to happen. This helps to maintain a calm and ordered atmosphere giving our students the best opportunity to produce a high standard of work. We introduce new topics and techniques in a structured way that ensures everyone really understands what is required of them. We are also concise and simplistic in our instruction so that everyone can understand what is required at any particular moment.

We have a great deal of fun in these classes but also work hard and expect a high standard from all our pupils. Our special needs groups take a full part in our medal test days, the annual show and public performances and we pride ourselves on providing excellent training and opportunity for all our pupils.

Our dance groups use a variety of dance techniques to explore a variety of dance genres (including social dances, Line Dancing, Freestyle and Hip Hop style). We use a real mix of music from jazz to R & B, pop to Country & Western.

Our drama groups are currently working on some devised pieces, written by the students which they will be performing in our next show. We have some extremely good genuine talent among our pupils.

Working with a wide range of abilities including some students with communication difficulties is challenging but we love our work and aim to give every student the chance to understand themselves and other people. We select a variety of themes and projects all aimed at exploring the world around them, the past and future and their imaginations. We include a strong element of physicality in the class as this is key to producing convincing characterisation and helps to keep focus.

If you are interested in our classes and would like to assess their suitability we are always happy to arrange a visit to see one of our sessions in action. You can get in touch to arrange a visit via our "Contact Us" page.

Our classes are deliberately kept fairly small to allow us to get to really know and understand each student as an individual and to work with each person to optimise their learning experience, improve confidence and achieve their full potential. We would therefore ask that you contact us first to check whether we have any vacancies in the required class.

We are planning to add new classes to our timetable in Autumn 2014. Look for local advertising or check this site regularly for details of new and exciting sessions.

"Fun, Fitness and Friendship" is both our motto and our work ethos.
